So I was about to make Chinese milk tea… when I realized that I was out of condensed milk and black tea. Sooo I started getting creative and I made this delicious summer recipe!
I recommend using green tea and vanilla ice cream.
* If you are lactose intolerant, substitute almond milk, soy milk, or other milk substitute and use ice cream made with milk substitute(you can buy at specialty and health food stores or make it yourself).
Lay your tea bag into a pot and pour 1/4 of a cup of water over it. Set your heat to low.
Allow your tea to sit on low heat for 30 minutes. If the water level vanishes too much(you should be left with about 1/7 cup of water by the time the 30 minutes are up), feel free to add water little by little.
Take the heat all of the way down.
Now, using a spoon, slide the tea bag to the side of the pot, use the spoon to squeeze it gently, and then use the spoon to pull it the rest of the way out. Now add 1 cup of milk.
Leave the heat all of the way down for no longer than 1 minute.
Now, pour the milk tea out of the pot into a tea pot or pitcher.
Now, add one cup of ice cream(Although I have an ice cream scoop in the picture, please use a measuring cup to measure the amount of ice cream).
Now, stir the milk tea and the ice cream together thoroughly(It may take 10 minutes of stirring if you DON’T leave it out… to avoid having to stir this long, let it sit for 10 minutes beforehand)
Now, put the lid onto the tea pot, and place it into the refridgerator for at least 1 hour.
And now, your ice cream milk tea is ready to enjoy!
